Superman , born Kal-El and legally named Clark Kent , is one of the main protagonists of the DC Comics. He is the titular main protagonist of the Superman and Justice League comic books and a supporting character in a variety of comics, including Batman and Wonder Woman , among others. He and his cousin, Supergirl, are the last survivors of the dying planet Krypton. He made his debut in Action Comics #1 (1938) and was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
